Positive Books for Children
I have always loved reading since I was a little girl. I remember reading books on car rides with my family, instead of paying attention to the scenery. I was especially drawn to positive books and still am. When I became a mom, I really started analyzing the books I was reading to my son and found myself changing the word’s quickly or switching the book I was reading. It has become really important to me to read positive books to my son. Here is a list I have compiled of books I feel comfortable having on our bookshelf.
Whether you have a boy or a girl, each one of these books is super uplifting. My son now repeats some of the positive affirmations and they are easy to use throughout the day. I highly recommend these books! The author’s story is very interesting too.
This book was recommended to me by a friend and it explains the world in a beautiful way. The pictures are amazing and the end really touches your heart.
This book is ideal for younger children and really teaches empathy and kindness. Now, my son and I talk about ways we can fill someone’s bucket.
This book covers the same bucket filling concept, but is great for older kids, ages 4 to 9. It is a great way to show kids the impact they have in this world and about the power of positivity. I have read this in the classroom and children love it and we always have great discussions after we read it.
This book takes you on a journey through your child’s life and makes you think about your own life. The colorful pictures and positive prayers really affirm your child and help them know how much you care about them.
This incredible book shows us how we are connected to nature. It is a book that you can read for a long time and have many great discussions about nature.
This book encourages mindfulness and the power of staying present. It is a great way to teach children about their breath and thoughts.
This is a beautiful book about a boy’s magical journey with the moon. I feel like this is such a nice book to read before going to sleep.
This book is based off the song and I feel like the illustrations really capture the message from a child’s point of view. It is fun to sing with my son.
I love this book and song so much. The images in this book really leave an impression on you and my son loves hearing this book over and over again.
11. All Around Bustletown: Winter
A friend of mine recently introduced me to these books and my son and I love them. I love that they cover the four seasons and how people live, work, and play during each one. The best part of these books is that you and your child can create the stories and follow each person’s journeys. There are no words and it is fun to discover and discuss your thoughts together.
I hope you enjoyed my list. I will add to it more as I discover more books. I would love to hear your favorite books to read to your children. Feel free to comment below or e-mail us at lifepoints.us@gmail.com or message us on instagram @life_points
